Overview of faculty team


         The MBA faculty team consists of core members and potential members, among which, the former ones, mainly from the SBA while partially from the other schools, such as School of Accounting, of Finance, and of Law, or from outside the campus, namely, the famous experts and scholars at home and abroad as well as high-level executives with rich business experience from enterprises, take charge of course-teaching and thesis-supervision of MBA and EMBA students; the latter ones, from the SBA School or outside it, are responsible for supporting or participating the supervisory work of the MBA teaching as well as offering intellectual support for teaching and research of MBA education.


        From 2014 to 2018, there were 268 core teachers in MBA and EMBA programmes, among which, there are 220 in-school teachers teaching and instructing thesis writing for MBA programme, and more than 90% of them have doctoral degree; 142 teachers teaching and instructing thesis writing for EMBA programme, 86.6% of them have doctoral degree; and some teachers cross the two programmes. Among them, there are 82 full-time teachers in the SBA, 159 teachers in other schools, and the rest are part-time teachers outside the University and foreign teachers. The MBA education provides these teachers with organization and mechanism for communication through the Open Teaching Sections. The overall situation of faculty’s degrees and titles is shown in Table 1 to 4.

         Compared with the business schools of the other universities, the MBA education faculty team of our university has obvious advantage. The MBA Education Centre can select teachers for one course from the SBA, of Law, of Accounting, of Economics ad of Finance, which fully represents the features of our MBA education, integration of economics, management and law. In this regard, our MBA education has obvious comparative advantages over its peers no matter in terms of quantity and quality of course teachers, or of thesis supervisors.


       What’s more, the SBA, to cultivate students with global vision and draw upon the advanced theoretical and practical experience at home and broad, set up Foreign Faculty Bank, including various types of specially-appointed professors, visiting professors, foreign senior executives of transnational companies etc. to build a platform for gathering quality faculty resources.


         In the meanwhile, the SBA makes great efforts in building a robust MBA faculty team featuring integration of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The MBA Education Centre does its utmost to satisfy the MBA students’ demand on practice by hiring part-time supervisors, supervising their thesis writing and helping them be engaged in business practice. In course teaching, the industry figures are introduced to offer “Zhongnan Forum” Lectures. They and the course teachers jointly design and complete course teaching.


         This kind of diversified faculty structure makes sure that our MBA education can quickly respond to the market and practical needs of students. With competition and needs changing, the Centre flexibly adjusts its curriculum structure and properly allocates qualified teachers, thus it has won acknowledgment from students, alumni and employers.
